****Gathering of the Clans 2012 - Update 18 Sep 2012*****
Good afternoon all, just an update on the Gathering of the Clans, as your all aware GOC2012 was due to be held last weekend on the 15th - 16th of September.
The Gathering of the Clans is the biggest Scottish Surfing Competition of the year and given surfers will be travelling from all over Scotland to take part we require a decent swell to make the event worthwhile.
Last weekend the chart was marginal and as such the committee decided to postpone the event to the back up dates (this weekend 22nd - 23rd September). (Turned out to be the right call as the small swell on Saturday 15th soon died away and would have been unsurfable by the afternoon).
So where does this leave us - we are planing to target this coming weekend for the Clans (22nd -23rd September) - SWELL DEPENDENT. The swell will be assessed and a final call will be made on Wednesday evening (tomorrow)/ Thursday morning by the committee if it is to go ahead or not.

If due to lack of swell the competition has to be postponed again we (the committee) will avert soonest with revised dates.
Apologies for the delays and postponements but we want to ensure the conditions are worthwhile for the event to be a success and with the support from our main sponsors GRANITE REEF as well as Lunasurf there ought to be some decent prizes up for grabs, all we need are the waves to make it so.
